Black Forest Cake
Cake
1 cake mix, 2 layer size, chocolate (other types acceptable)
Water
Eggs
Oil
Filling
1 can Oregon Dark Sweet Cherries in syrup
2 Tablespoon brandy, optional
Topping
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Packet of Whipit!
Bake cake according to package directions for an 8 or 9inch two layer cake. Let cool.

1 can Oregon Bing Cherries in syrup
2Tablespoon brandy, optional

2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Make cake mix according to package directions. Bake in two 8- or 9-inch layer pans. Cool.
Add Brandy to cherries and let soak while making the cake and topping.
To make the topping, whip the whipping cream with Whipit, gradually adding the powdered sugar, till stiff. Do not overbeat.
To assemble, divide the two layers into four by slicing them with a sharp serrated knife or dental floss. Place one layer on cake plate and brush with the cherry/brandy juice. Spread with whipping cream. Add the next layer, brush with cherry/brandy juice. Spread with whipping cream and place cherries all over the top. Add the next layer, brush and spread with whipping cream. Gently place the top layer on top Cover top with remaining whipped cream and top with remaining cherries. Garnish with 1/3 bar sweet cooking chocolate, grated or shaved.
